Job Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and motivated Analyst/Senior Analyst to become a vital part of the Business Management team within the Credit Investments (CI) division. This department oversees all public and private credit investments for CPP Investments on a global scale. The CI Business Management team is dedicated to enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.

The Analyst/Senior Analyst will play a key role in delivering essential outputs and initiatives focused on capital budgeting, portfolio analysis, and the upkeep of internal systems and investment data. This position requires collaborative efforts with CI investment and strategy teams, the Total Fund Management team, and various other support teams across CPP Investments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the CI Capital Ledger process, which is crucial for the Fund's capital management. This entails collaboration with CI investment teams, Total Fund Management, and other support functions.
  • Assist in the analysis and reporting of deployment and disposition activities, including performance attribution across different groups and strategies within CI.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of all data essential to CI's investment operations, including upstream sources and downstream applications.
  • Oversee the ongoing collection and evaluation of critical data elements pertinent to portfolio management.
  • Support portfolio analysis and management reporting, including the quarterly monitoring of the portfolio.
  • Proactively implement process enhancements that facilitate investment decision-making and portfolio management.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support business management and contribute to various departmental and enterprise projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Up to 3 years of experience in finance and/or investment; familiarity with the credit asset class is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python, VBA, and SQL is beneficial.
  • Highly organized with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-driven with the capacity for critical and creative thinking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and thrive in a high-performance environment.
