We are currently seeking a Director of Actuarial Services specializing in Property & Casualty with substantial experience in the Canadian insurance and reinsurance sectors to join our Canadian P&C Reserving team. In this capacity, you will lead a globally esteemed consulting group, delivering valuable insights to clients, developing advanced intellectual assets, and playing a pivotal role in the growth of our reserving practice. As a project and engagement leader, you will supervise client and project teams while mentoring managers, consultants, and analysts to enhance their technical and client-facing competencies.

Note: This position is remote; however, you must be able to travel to one of the Willis Towers Watson offices as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish trusted advisor relationships with client contacts through effective communication and efficient project execution.
  • Serve as a prominent senior practitioner and subject matter expert in the industry.
  • Address client requirements and escalate pertinent issues to Subject Matter Experts or Client Relationship Managers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from various practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client's broader business challenges.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities while enhancing existing relationships to meet revenue objectives set by your manager.
  • Draft statements of work, project plans, and budgets involving multiple workflow streams and client teams.
  • Meet individual billable hour and sales targets aligned with your seniority and area of focus.
  • Contribute to the success of the ICT reserving practice and overall ICT business plan and budget.
  • Assist in the creation of innovative tools and methodologies for reserving, capital management, and IFRS 17.
  • Enhance the team's knowledge in reserving, capital management, and IFRS 17.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within and outside the team to deepen the understanding and application of IFRS 17.
  • Build relationships within the organization and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate ease and effectiveness when engaging with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Act as a mentor to project team associates.
Qualifications
  • FCIA/FCAS with over 10 years of experience in a Canadian insurance and/or actuarial environment focusing on reserving, capital management/modeling, and exposure to IFRS 17.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Canadian P&C insurance market, including commercial lines and reinsurance.
  • Qualified and capable of stepping into Appointed Actuary roles.
  • Membership in the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and/or the Casualty Actuarial Society is mandatory.
  • Strong analytical abilities, including the capacity to draw conclusions and identify trends from data in a logical, systematic manner.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects and delivering quality results on time and within budget.
  • Ability to foster strong relationships and influence decision-making at senior levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility and a demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • A broad perspective, leveraging resources from related practices to address clients' business challenges.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.

Language Proficiency: Strong oral and written communication skills in English and French are required for all candidates residing in Quebec.

Compensation: The salary range for this role is $225,000 to $275,000 CAD per year.
