Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Midwife to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Midwife, you will be responsible for providing primary care to women during the childbearing year, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive midwifery services to women, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
  • Work collaboratively with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and community members to promote health and well-being.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance midwifery skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an educational program approved by the College of Midwives of Manitoba.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and neonatal resuscitation certification (NRP) with intubation required.
  • Eligible for Registration with the College of Midwives of Manitoba as a practicing midwife, supervised candidate or exam candidate.
  • Possession of a valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's license.
  • Ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with multicultural and disadvantaged populations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals in a diverse range of settings.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The successful candidate must be able to lift and carry clinical equipment, and work in varying weather and environmental conditions.
