About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Cashier to join our team at G&G's Travel Plaza (Petro Canada). As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing cash handling and sales operations, and leading a team of cashiers to achieve sales goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cash Handling and Sales Operations
    • Manage cash handling and sales operations, including processing transactions, handling customer complaints, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Ensure accurate and efficient cash handling, including counting and reconciling cash, and maintaining a clean and organized cash handling area.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead and motivate a team of cashiers to achieve sales goals and provide exceptional customer service.
    • Provide coaching and training to team members to improve their skills and knowledge, and to ensure they are equipped to handle customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Customer Service and Relations
    • Provide exceptional customer service, including responding to customer inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, including regular communication and follow-up to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Inventory Management and Organization
    • Manage inventory levels, including ordering and receiving merchandise, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
    • Ensure a clean and organized store environment, including maintaining a tidy and well-organized sales floor and stockroom.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports on sales, customer service, and other key performance indicators.
    • Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement, and to inform business decisions.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience
    • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a retail sales environment
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash
Work Environment

G&G's Travel Plaza (Petro Canada) is a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. As a Head Cashier, you will be required to work in a standing position for extended periods, and to move quickly and efficiently around the sales floor to respond to customer needs.
