Job Summary:

Equinox Engineering Ltd. is a leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm specializing in oil and gas processing. We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Lead Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of complex electrical systems for various oil and gas projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement electrical designs for oil and gas facilities, including heavy oil facilities, well tie-ins, pipelines, compressor stations, and field gas processing facilities.
  • Prepare and review electrical documentation, including single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure electrical designs meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis, including short circuit calculations, time current coordination, load flow, motor starting, and harmonic analysis.
  • Develop and evaluate electrical equipment and construction specifications.
  • Provide technical input for project execution plans, detailed scope of work, and design basis documents.
  • Lead the development of electrical MTOs and labour estimates.
  • Perform engineering for procurement activities, including MRQ/MRP development, technical evaluation, and vendor drawing approvals.
  • Develop and evaluate construction work packages, including project descriptions, construction specifications, IFC drawings, and material lists.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including field engineering, inspection, and special studies.

Requirements:

  • P. Eng. – Electrical Engineering Degree
  • 8-12 years of oil and gas experience with EPCM background and supervisory skills
  • Experience with various electrical codes and standards (i.e. CSA, IEEE, API)
  • Ability to coordinate with other engineering disciplines
