Role Overview:
Our client is seeking an Interim Head of Press to oversee the latter part of a maternity leave on a fixed-term contract for 4 days per week. This role is situated within the Media & External Affairs team, which is part of the Audiences & Engagement Department.

The Media & External Affairs team plays a crucial role in helping the charity achieve its strategic goals related to funding the arts, engaging audiences, and enhancing the profile of the museum sector through cohesive external communications. Reporting to the Head of Media & External Affairs, the Head of Press will be tasked with executing impactful media relations campaigns and strategically planning press engagements to enhance visibility, advocacy, funding, and support.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying key opportunities, evaluating, developing, and implementing strategies to optimize public relations efforts and generate media interest in the charity's initiatives, securing prominent media coverage and partnerships. The Head of Press will serve as the primary contact for media inquiries and internal staff regarding press communications, including safeguarding and reputational risks. Additionally, this role will involve managing relationships with external PR agencies, freelancers, and partners to ensure optimal outcomes.
