Senior Design Engineer

At Foremost, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to lead our mechanical design projects. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing top-quality mechanical products that meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop fabricated and machined products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Lead structural design projects, applying expertise in mechanical systems and materials science.
  • Develop and implement powertrain design and driveline analysis, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Design and optimize mobile hydraulics systems, considering factors such as safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure that all designs meet performance and compliance requirements through thorough calculations and analysis.
  • Create detailed engineering documentation, including technical specifications, drawings, and reports.
  • Collaborate with sales, production, and field service teams to ensure seamless product delivery and support.
  • Troubleshoot and commission mechanical systems, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
  • Supervise and mentor junior design engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and development.
  • Develop and manage project schedules and estimates, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the success of the engineering team.

Requirements:

  • Professional Mechanical Engineer registration, with a strong background in mechanical design and engineering principles.
  • Registration to practice in Alberta under APEGA, with a deep understanding of industry standards and regulations.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical design, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality products and projects.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
