Position Overview:

Reporting to the Manager of NGTL/CGL Compression Operations Engineering, the Lead Operations Engineer will be responsible for a designated geographical area, ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of our compressor station facilities.

You will collaborate with a high-performing, multidisciplinary team, engaging with seasoned engineers, field specialists, and commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive data collection and engineering analysis to resolve issues, assess facility health, and perform root cause and risk assessments.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for field operations, including site visits to collaborate with senior reliability specialists and engineers.
  • Analyze operational and engineering data to identify performance issues and opportunities for enhancing equipment reliability and maintenance.
  • Facilitate risk assessments for operational decision-making regarding compression facilities.
  • Lead the implementation of treatment plans aimed at reducing asset and system risks.
  • Engage in discussions to analyze root causes of equipment failures and assist in developing corrective actions.
  • Support ongoing GPMC projects by ensuring that risks and proposed solutions are effectively managed.
  • Develop scopes, internal designs, and implement Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Create Engineering Justifications to provide technical recommendations for project requirements.
  • Conduct fit-for-service and engineering assessments.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proven ability to drive both short-term and long-term technical solutions to complex challenges.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a comprehensive understanding of facility operations.
  • Familiarity with industry standards related to equipment reliability, safety, and risk management.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently, including at field locations.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to provide a driver's abstract for review.
  • Willingness to stay away from home base overnight, including living in company-provided accommodations approximately 30% of the time.
