Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Hair Care Specialist to join our vibrant team at Dark Shugar Hair and Beauty. This is a permanent position offering a dynamic work environment where creativity and customer service are paramount.

Employment Details
  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Working Language: English or French
  • Weekly Hours: 40 hours
Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Work Environment
  • Setting: Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio
  • Relocation: Costs not covered by employer
Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments for clients
  • Shampoo and prepare customers' hair
  • Oversee the work of other hairstylists and staff
  • Guide apprentices and students during their training
  • Apply hair extensions and enhancements
  • Maintain and style wigs and hairpieces
  • Advise clients on hairstyles that suit their features and preferences
  • Perform receptionist duties as needed
  • Manage inventory and order supplies
Supervision
  • Responsible for supervising 1 to 2 individuals
Hair Styling Techniques
  • Proficient in blow drying
  • Skilled in hair braiding
  • Experienced with extensions
  • Knowledgeable in twisting and locking techniques
Transportation
  • Public transportation options are available
Work Conditions
  • Fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity
