The Bilingual Billing and Collections Specialist at Lifemark plays a crucial role in overseeing the invoicing and collections process within the revenue cycle. This position entails the generation and examination of invoices based on clinic records, dispatching invoices to funding sources within established deadlines, and following up on overdue accounts by engaging with clients and patients for payment collection.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accuracy of billing information and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Address and rectify discrepancies in patient financial records.
  • Issue invoices in accordance with Lifemark's protocols.
  • Inform clinics about any billing-related issues.
  • Engage with clinics and leverage available resources to resolve concerns.
  • Document relevant notes in patient accounts for reference.
  • Adhere to compliance standards in billing procedures.
  • Utilize system-generated reports to facilitate task completion.

Furthermore, this role encompasses collection duties such as tracking accounts, conducting outbound collection calls, resolving billing issues, and maintaining precise records.

Required Skills:

  • Fluency in both French and English.
  • Understanding of billing processes and collection strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to work towards targets while managing stress effectively.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and adapt to evolving situations.

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of Grade 12 diploma; a bachelor's degree is an advantage.
  • At least 2 years of experience in corporate collections or 1 year in a related administrative capacity.
  • Familiarity with medical and vocational terminology is beneficial.
