Senior Android Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Architect to join our team at Randstad Canada. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for designing and architecting advanced applications for the Android platform.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and implement robust and scalable Android applications.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver new features.
  3. Lead the technical implementation of projects, ensuring high quality and adherence to best practices.
  4. Evaluate and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
  5. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  6. Conduct code reviews and ensure code quality and performance.
  7. Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  2. 8+ years of professional experience in Android development with a proven track record of delivering successful consumer-facing applications.
  3. Expert knowledge of Java and Kotlin programming languages.
  4. Strong understanding of Android architecture components like MVVM, LiveData, Room, etc.
  5. Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON to connect Android applications to back-end services.
  6. Proficient in using development tools such as Android Studio, Gradle, etc.
  7. Solid understanding of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  8. Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
  9. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  10. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience with hybrid frameworks like React Native or Flutter.
  2. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
  3. Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the Android community.
