As a Child and Youth Support Worker in our Therapeutic Respite Home, you will join a dedicated team that provides essential support, care, and mentorship to youth facing complex mental health and behavioral challenges, including autism. This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday, from 3 PM to 11 PM.

Key Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience working with individuals experiencing complex mental health and behavioral issues
  • Proficient in establishing strong boundaries while building appropriate relationships with individuals with ASD
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that are clear, direct, and sensitive
  • Possession of a valid BC Class 5 Driver's License
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification (training available for those who need it)
  • Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) or MANDT Training (training available for those who need it)

Responsibilities Include:

  • Documenting incidents and providing updates to the care team
  • Conducting wellness checks on clients in accordance with their safety plans
  • Managing household tasks, preparing meals, and administering medications
  • Encouraging and modeling appropriate social behaviors while maintaining necessary boundaries
  • Transporting clients to appointments and outings as required

Compensation: $24.00-$26.00 per hour, plus benefits
