Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada First Nations Health Authority Full time

FNHA Overview

The First Nations-led Primary Care Initiative (FNPCI) is dedicated to enhancing access to primary health-care services for First Nations individuals throughout British Columbia, ensuring that care is culturally appropriate and accessible. This initiative is part of the broader provincial strategy aimed at integrating team-based care within communities across the province, fundamentally transforming the delivery of primary care through the establishment of primary care networks in collaboration with Regional Health Authorities.
To effectively address the health and wellness needs of First Nations populations, it is crucial that primary care is delivered in a culturally safe and informed manner, incorporating Indigenous perspectives and practices into service provision.
A key goal of the FNPCI is to establish new First Nations Primary Health Care Centres in both rural and urban settings across the province.
These centres will offer access to high-quality, culturally safe primary health care services for First Nations individuals and their families, ensuring that clients feel secure, valued, respected, and heard when seeking care.
