Position Overview

The Site Construction Manager will play a pivotal role in the execution of a new greenfield industrial processing facility. This position requires a strong focus on ensuring the project adheres to its timeline, budget, design specifications, and the overarching goals of Ausenco.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all onsite operations to guarantee the successful implementation of the project plan.
  • Ensure the site is staffed with qualified personnel at all times to meet construction requirements.
  • Demonstrate a steadfast commitment to safety and consistently meet construction deadlines.
  • Lead a dedicated site team, including trade supervisors and engineering support, throughout the construction phase.
  • Manage construction activities and subcontractors in alignment with the projected 24-month timeline and budget.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes and testing protocols for the project.
  • Maintain professional relationships with client representatives and internal project managers.
  • Effectively address and manage industrial relations issues to prevent escalation.
  • Provide essential support to the Project Manager as a key member of the Project Leadership Team.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience in construction management, with a minimum of several years supervising large-scale, multi-disciplinary industrial projects from inception to commissioning.
  • Prior experience in general contracting roles is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of civil earthworks, including rock excavation and large-diameter underground piping.
  • Experience in inspecting large foundation formwork, reinforcing steel, and rock anchors.
  • Familiarity with multi-storey steel construction and the installation of elevated equipment.
  • Supervise the installation of process piping systems, pumps, tanks, and associated controls.
  • Review and assess electrical distribution systems, including transformers and switchgear.
  • Experience in the commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proven contracting experience, including resource and equipment management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to proactively address site challenges with contractors and engineers.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Highly organized with effective communication skills.
