Job Title: Intermediate Structural Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Building Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare engineering service proposals for senior review and approval.
  • Perform field inspections and reviews for various construction projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Liaise with clients, government agencies, and contractors to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  • Lead the engineering design and manage project teams, schedules, and budgets for a variety of projects.
  • Provide technical direction and peer review for junior team members, ensuring the highest standards of engineering excellence.
  • Design and stamp medium to complex designs, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Prepare specifications and drawings for building permits and tenders, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain a technical advisory role for clients throughout the project term, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Oversee and provide construction review services, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Prepare technical specifications and reports, summarizing project findings and recommendations.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a university degree in Structural Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of design experience on structural engineering projects.
  • Experience with residential light timber design is an asset.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario, in good standing, or the ability to obtain designation within 6 months.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer within the Province of Quebec is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with Part 9 of the National Building Code of Canada and Canadian design standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, as well as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience with structural finite element engineering design software, such as SFRAME, ETABS, SAP, Woodworks, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
