Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join our team at BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. in Peterborough, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the technical direction for overall project execution and technical interfacing with internal and external customers.
  • Prepare technical documents, including elementary drawings, electrical assembly drawings, and single-line diagrams, in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Liaise with personnel from various customer groups to gather site-specific design information.
  • Execute walk-downs of various equipment in the plant and prepare technical data for internal and external customers.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable company, technical, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in design reviews and customer review meetings, providing stakeholder and design input.
  • Test execution and commissioning of complex equipment and systems.
  • Review selection of components and equipment, including motors, cables, relays, and junction boxes.
  • Adhere to on-time and on-budget criteria associated with project commitments and customer success.
  • Support the development and estimating of engineering proposals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical/Instrumentation & Control/Automation or related discipline Engineering.
  • Holds or working towards a current Professional Engineer (PEO) license.
  • Typically requires 3 years' experience in design engineering in Nuclear, Aerospace, Transportation, Oil and Gas, Mining, or other highly regulated and process-based design.
  • Experience with industrial automation technologies, low-voltage power distribution and control circuits, control and power relays, cabling, junction boxes, and penetrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to support leadership on engineering projects over their complete EPC life cycles with little support.
  • Exposure to a broad range of interdisciplinary departments, including mechanical, software design, systems engineering, and manufacturing.
