Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Treaty Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our reinsurance team, you will be responsible for writing and analyzing ceded reinsurance treaties, collaborating with stakeholders to optimize treaty administration, and providing leadership and subject matter expertise on reinsurance portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities:- Write and analyze ceded reinsurance treaties, collaborating with legal advisors to develop appropriate treaty language and clauses.
- Manage Royal Bank of Canada's reinsurance treaties, implementing process and system changes to optimize treaty management.
- Collaborate with the Manager, Reinsurance Placements and Counterparty Management to analyze data from reinsurance treaties and identify operational gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with cross-department teams and external reinsurers to ensure all reinsurance treaties are documented and ready for analysis.
- Support the overall administration of ceded reinsurance treaties, including accurate and timely analytics, recommending treaties for recapture, and assisting with Group & Travel administrative tasks.
- Post-secondary degree in business, actuarial science, finance, mathematics, or a relevant field of study.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Insurance and Reinsurance Administration, with in-depth knowledge of the industry, reinsurance treaties and contracts, insurance products, and related processes.
- Direct first-hand experience in writing Reinsurance Treaties.
- Thorough understanding of reinsurance processes, including administration of all reinsurance treaties, with unique skills in developing treaty analytics.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate and present ideas across various levels of management and stakeholders.
- Experience in data analytics and ability to summarize reinsurance treaty data by key fields.
