Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced French Language Instructor to join our team as a Part-Time Professor at the University of Ottawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French as a second language and developing innovative programs to enhance student learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging and effective French language instruction to students of varying proficiency levels.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the Ontario curriculum and meets the needs of students.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure students achieve their language learning goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in language instruction and incorporate new methods and technologies into teaching practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement language programs that meet the needs of students and the university.
  • Contribute to the development of language resources and materials to support student learning.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education or a related field.
  • Specialist qualification in French as a second language.
  • Recent full-time teaching experience in a school or administrative experience in a school board.
  • 2 years of experience in implementing Ontario curriculum in FSL.
  • Current qualification confirmation in FSL.
  • Leadership in the education field.
  • Ability to apply professional standards and code of ethics.
  • Equivalent experience or qualifications may be considered.
