PROPERTY PORTFOLIO MANAGER: ($67, $78,694.16 Annually)
Role Summary
The Property Portfolio Manager (PPM) oversees the management and control of property management and tenant support services for all directly managed social housing, and in some instances, group homes and market-housing properties within a designated area. The tenant demographic is diverse, encompassing seniors, individuals with mental or physical disabilities, those struggling with substance addictions, families at risk of homelessness, women and children escaping domestic violence, First Nations peoples, and low-income families.
The incumbent leads multi-disciplinary teams in delivering a variety of programs and services to ensure successful tenancies, the safety and well-being of tenants, and the effective operation, maintenance, and repair of the properties. The position involves liaising with various government and community stakeholders to resolve property management and tenant-related issues and representing BC Housing in tenancy and court proceedings.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, including completion of courses in property management.
- Significant experience at a senior level in property management and contract administration, with prior supervisory experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the Employer.
- A Criminal Record Check is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the philosophies, principles, and practices of property management, particularly within the social housing sector.
- In-depth understanding of current social issues affecting tenant populations, such as homelessness, mental health challenges, substance abuse, domestic violence, child protection, and aging.
- Extensive knowledge of building structures and systems, with the ability to identify deficiencies and prepare summaries of required work.
- Strong negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to negotiate contracts, mediate disputes, and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to plan and coordinate the delivery of a broad range of property management and tenant support services, function as an effective team leader, and make informed decisions based on a comprehensive analysis of various issues and challenges.
- Ability to summarize and articulate complex program information and funding requirements.
- Ability to build consensus among multiple stakeholders, often with differing agendas; demonstrate tact and diplomacy when engaging with a diverse range of professionals and community stakeholders; and be a socially aware administrator.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
- A valid BC driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.
