The primary objective is to provide exceptional customer service to clients by proactively identifying opportunities to assist and support. The successful candidate will act as a deterrent to criminal activity and contribute to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding service to customers and clients, addressing safety concerns, medical issues, or emergencies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with property standards, rules, and regulations in a fair manner.
- Safeguard the property by conducting visible patrols of designated areas and engaging positively with clients.
- Collaborate closely with other departments, particularly Guest Services, to enhance customer service and resolve concerns.
- Stay alert for signs of criminal or suspicious behavior and follow appropriate reporting procedures.
- Be prepared to respond to incidents, disturbances, fires, and other emergencies as outlined in standard operating procedures.
- When authorized, respond to crimes in progress and ensure law enforcement is contacted.
- Report and address hazards or deficiencies encountered during duties.
- Conduct daily inspections of fire safety equipment and escalators.
- Provide first aid, CPR, or AED support during medical emergencies until professional help arrives.
- Maintain a detailed logbook and prepare incident reports using the company's standard reporting system.
- Manage trespassers and unauthorized individuals on the property in a fair and safe manner, enforcing relevant laws.
- Support the health and safety program to prioritize occupational safety across all operations.
- Perform after-hours lock-up and morning opening procedures.
- Complete the required training and recertification programs.
- Follow procedures related to operational hours and traffic management.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills:

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Law Enforcement/Security or a related field.
- At least one year of experience in security within a retail environment is preferred.
- Valid Provincial Security License.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Familiarity with the Trespass to Property Act.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- WHMIS and other safety training are advantageous.
- Awareness of applicable legislation and regulations.
- Proficient in digital tools (Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
- Previous experience in customer service is a plus.
- Understanding of crowd management during emergencies.
