ALTERNATIVE MED CANADA INC. is seeking an experienced Agricultural Laborer to join our team. As an Agricultural Laborer, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to crop farming, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.
Key Responsibilities:- Apply fertilizers and pesticides to crops as instructed
- Use specialized equipment to plant, cultivate, and harvest crops
- Monitor crop growth and development, and report any issues to management
- Assist with the maintenance of farm equipment and tools
- Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers and refugees
- Recruit and mentor newcomers and refugees in the workplace
- Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities and organizations
- Provide cultural competency training to employees
- Facilitate access to Elders for support and guidance
- 1 to less than 7 months of experience in crop farming
- No degree, certificate, or diploma required
- Ability to work 40 hours per week
- English language proficiency
The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding. The Agricultural Laborer will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions and may be exposed to dust, chemicals, and other hazards.
