Child Care Program Coordinator

About the Role:

Boys and Girls Club Okanagan is seeking enthusiastic individuals to take on the role of Child Care Program Coordinator within our School Aged Child Care Programs. This position offers a unique opportunity to positively impact the lives of children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, execute, and engage in diverse recreational, social, and educational activities.
  • Oversee the well-being and safety of participants, ensuring a nurturing environment.
  • Guide and mentor Activity Leaders, fostering their development within the program.
  • Establish strong connections with children, youth, and families, maintaining open lines of communication with caregivers.
  • Utilize transportation resources to facilitate member pickups and site transfers as necessary.
  • Prepare healthy snacks and meals for participants.
  • Implement group and individual behavior management strategies.
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Educational background in childcare or experience in developing and managing childcare programs.
  • Completion of 20-hour responsible adult training or willingness to complete upon hiring.
  • First Aid Certification and Food Safety training or readiness to obtain.
  • Possession of a Class 4 Driver's License or willingness to acquire it promptly for certain roles.
  • Minimum age of 19 years as per licensing regulations.
  • Successful completion of background screening, including a Criminal Record Check.

Work Schedule: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, afternoons.

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage.
