Position Overview


We are seeking a Full Time Temporary Senior Analyst for Market Support.

As the Senior Analyst for Market Support, your role will involve delivering exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries related to tariffs and settlements from various stakeholders, including the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) and the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC). You will manage intricate tariff and settlement issues, such as Tariff Bill Record disputes and adjustments, while collaborating with Finance, Regulatory, and IT teams to identify and rectify system deficiencies affecting the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the department's documentation library to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Meter Data Billing department.
  • Providing support through the team's communication channels to assist Retailers and other stakeholders.
  • Engaging with various teams daily to troubleshoot inquiries related to rates, transactions, meters, and settlement files.
  • Managing invoicing and investigations, including:
    • Generating weekly Invoice Reports for Finance and handling Direct Connect invoicing.
    • Timely investigation and processing of Tariff Bill Rejections and Disputes.
    • Validating exceptions and daily corrections for DCM/DIM and GCM.
    • Conducting RSA validation and PFAM reporting.
    • Identifying gaps in files and tracing their sources in databases.
    • Processing manual billing reconciliations and developing queries to resolve billing issues.
    • Exporting validated data files for internal and external requests.
    • Collaborating with STARS IT support to resolve load settlement and invoice data issues.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert for Micro-Generation applications and customer inquiries.
  • Administering rate sets in STARS to ensure accurate billing.
  • Maintaining and reporting on Meter Data Billing statistics to ensure compliance.
  • Driving optimal results on key performance metrics, including Retailer Certification.
  • Providing leadership and technical expertise within the Meter Data and Billing team.
  • Ensuring compliance with AESO and AUC Rules and Regulations.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a 2-year post-secondary diploma.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in utility, leadership, and project management roles.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of AUC Rules and Regulations.
  • Experience in analyzing utility and meter data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with systems like Oracle PL/SQL and Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Aptitude for leadership and teamwork.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will be a reliable team player, dedicated to enhancing processes and achieving results.
