About the Position
The University of Saskatchewan invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The successful candidate will be appointed as the Siemens EDA Chair in Electronic Design Automation, leading a dynamic research program and contributing to the academic excellence of our institution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging courses in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) at both graduate and undergraduate levels.
- Establish a cutting-edge research program in EDA, securing external funding and publishing impactful research findings.
- Collaborate with local industry professionals working in the field of EDA, fostering strong partnerships and knowledge exchange.
- Mentor and supervise student researchers, guiding their academic and professional development.
- Participate actively in departmental and university-wide committees, contributing to the overall success of the institution.
Qualifications
We seek a highly qualified individual with:
- An earned doctorate in electrical or computer engineering or a closely related field.
- Eligibility for registration as a professional engineer in Saskatchewan.
- Demonstrated expertise in electronic design automation, particularly in areas such as analog/mixed-signal verification, functional verification, verification methodologies for advanced process technologies, analog circuit simulation, statistical verification, custom verification, library characterization, or the application of artificial intelligence techniques to EDA.
- A strong publication record showcasing research excellence and potential for establishing an independent research program.
- Industrial experience in the design and application of EDA for custom IC verification is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication and teaching skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
