Food Service Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Culinary Professional to join our team at 4325445 NOVA SCOTIA LIMITED. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring that all dishes are presented to a high standard.
- Kitchen Management: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that they are clean and well-maintained, and that all equipment is in good working order.
- Staff Training and Supervision: Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, and supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, and ensure that all stock is ordered and received in a timely manner.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean kitchen and work areas, and ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
- Health and Safety: Ensure that health and safety regulations are followed at all times, and that all staff are aware of their responsibilities in this regard.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Work Setting: Restaurant environment.
- Transportation: Own transportation or public transportation available.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and ability to stand for extended periods.
- Personal Suitability: Dependability, excellent oral communication, flexibility, judgement, organized, reliability, and team player.
- Free Parking: Free parking available on site.
- Work Term: Permanent position.
- Work Language: English.
- Hours: 30 hours per week.
