Position Overview

The role of the Kitchen Manager at Original Joe's Restaurant & Bar involves overseeing the culinary operations to ensure a high standard of food quality and service. This position requires a blend of leadership, organizational skills, and culinary knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks and food service helpers.
  • Training: Provide training to staff on job responsibilities, sanitation practices, and safety protocols.
  • Scheduling: Establish and manage work schedules to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all food and service meet the established quality standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of stock levels, repairs, sales, and waste.
  • Budgeting: Prepare budget estimates and manage costs effectively.
  • Customer Relations: Address any customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Food Preparation: Estimate the necessary ingredients and supplies for meal preparation and assist in food order summaries for the chef.
Work Environment

The position is set in a fast-paced restaurant environment, which can be noisy and requires the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. The role may involve standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks.

Qualifications
  • Education: A secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.

Work Conditions
