Position: Attending Physician - Permanent, Full-Time

In this role, you will report directly to the Executive Director and be responsible for providing high-quality, resident-focused medical services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide clinical care to assigned residents during weekly visits to the nursing home;
  • Address both acute and chronic health needs of residents, ensuring timely and accurate documentation;
  • Recognize situations where palliative or end-of-life care may be beneficial, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team;
  • Work collaboratively with the medical director and other team members to ensure optimal care for residents;
  • Conduct regular reviews of medications and maintain updated health records for residents;
  • Participate in after-hours on-call duties;
  • Commit to ongoing education in long-term care, geriatric care, palliative care, and dementia care;
  • Engage in peer review processes to enhance the quality of resident care.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid medical practitioner license in Ontario, maintaining good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons;
  • Preferred experience in Long-Term Care settings;
  • Familiarity with regulations governing long-term care;
  • Proven ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team;
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and engage professionally with staff, residents, families, and community partners.
