Position Overview

In alignment with the Vision, Purpose, and Values of Island Health - Vancouver Island Health Authority, ensuring patient safety is a collective responsibility. Continuous enhancement of quality and safety is integral to this role.

As part of a diverse healthcare team, the Community Health Worker is responsible for delivering personal care assistance and support to clients and their families, aiming to foster and enhance independence within the home environment. This includes aiding with daily living activities and performing delegated tasks as per established care plans.

Travel may be necessary for this role. Transportation arrangements must align with the operational needs of Island Health and may involve the use of a personal vehicle; a valid BC Driver's License is required.

Qualifications:
Education, Training, and Experience

Completion of a Home Support/Resident Care Attendant/Health Care Assistant Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A Food Safe Certificate and a valid BC driver's license are also required.

Current registration and good standing with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
