Under the direction of the Manager of the Systems Operations Control Centre (SOCC), the SOCC Training Supervisor provides administrative, technical, and functional guidance to the commercial and passenger operations teams within the control centre.
This position plays a crucial role in enhancing Porter's operational excellence by creating and implementing effective training programs and procedures, ensuring high levels of individual performance across these teams.
Key Responsibilities- Offer leadership and mentorship that encourages the professional growth of all personnel, both technically and interpersonally, to cultivate a motivated and professional culture within the department.
- Provide strategic support to the commercial operations to safeguard the Company's interests, particularly during irregular operations.
- Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures and precise training records for Operations Coordinators, ensuring compliance with Company policies and relevant regulations.
- Possess expertise in the Company's weight and balance protocols, including training and oversight responsibilities.
- Assist in the implementation and enhancement of the System Operations Control Centre's tools, applications, software, and hardware systems.
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of network-wide on-time performance and schedule completion rates to enhance operational reliability.
- Collaborate with all internal passenger operations departments, including Learning & Development and Airport Operations.
- Ensure all personnel meet Transport Canada guidelines regarding Radio License qualifications.
- Create and maintain ongoing training programs and manuals for the SOCC.
- Actively engage in Porter's Safety Management System, including reporting hazards and incidents encountered during daily operations, while promoting adherence to the Company Safety Policy.
- Serve as Acting Manager on duty as designated.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager of SOCC or their designate.
- Safety Awareness: Recognizing hazardous situations and taking appropriate measures to ensure a safe environment for oneself and others.
- Collaboration: Working effectively with others to achieve organizational objectives.
- Customer Service Orientation: Delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
- Proactive Approach: Addressing situations and challenges with initiative and persistence, capitalizing on emerging opportunities.
- Results Orientation: Concentrating efforts on achieving high-quality outcomes that align with the organization's standards.
- Effective Communication: Engaging in open, honest, and respectful dialogue with diverse audiences, fostering consensus and understanding.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience within SOCC or relevant training experience.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google applications.
- Extensive knowledge of Reservation and Operational Control software systems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including shift work and overtime as necessary.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
- Possession of a Restricted Radio Operators Certificate.
