Job Title: Education Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Assistant to join our team at St. Augustine School in Kitsilano. As an Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, promoting inclusive education, and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with special education needs, including those with autism, behavioral challenges, and physical disabilities
  • Assist teachers in designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, promoting social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Collaborate with teachers, other Education Assistants, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
  • Participate in school-based team meetings and IEP meetings as required
Requirements:
  • Special Education and/or Education Assistant certification/diploma
  • Training and experience with personal care needs, ASD, CPI, and behavior management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and support staff
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
