We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Youth Worker to join our team at New Liskeard Public School. As a key member of our school community, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and well-being of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Assist students, families, and educators in addressing mental health and well-being through evidence-based programs and interventions.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations to provide students with access to professional services.
- Collaborate with school administrators and community partners to develop and implement mental health and well-being promotion/prevention programs.
- Screen and assess students referred for mental health support services and provide recommendations for appropriate interventions.
- Negotiate and collaborate with students, families, and educators to develop goal-directed interventions that honor individual, cultural, and situational diversity.
- Monitor student progress and review goal-directed interventions as needed.
- Communicate program and progress to parents or guardians of minors in consultation with school administration.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of individual and group support and communicate student progress regularly to school administrators, educators, and community partners.
- Provide intervention, liaison, and monitoring services that triangulate students with school and community service agencies.
- Promote the development of social-emotional learning strategies.
- Child and Youth Worker Diploma or Social Service Worker Diploma - required.
- Registered with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (preferred).
