ADGA Group Consultants Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Writer to join our team. As a Senior Technical Writer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining technical documentation for our clients in the Defence and Security sector.
Key Responsibilities:- Write and/or summarize technical documents for various audiences, including engineering, system managers, and end-users.
- Design the layout of documents/manuals, applying specific formatting specifications.
- Translate technical documentation and technical data package material between official languages.
- Review documentation standards and existing project documentation.
- Determine documentation requirements and plan to meet them.
- Assess audience requirements and prepare statements of purpose and scope for each document/manual.
- Develop tables of content for each document/manual and write or edit required content.
- Document help text, user manuals, technical documentation, web page content, etc.
- Translate technical documentation and technical data package material between official languages.
- Gather information on features and functions provided by developers.
- Investigate the accuracy of collected information by making direct use of material being documented.
- Prepare or coordinate the preparation of required illustrations and diagrams.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation in various formats and tools.
- Advise on the appropriateness, applicability, and effectiveness of specific technical documents, formats, notations, and technologies.
- Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience in technical writing.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in technical writing on Military Command and Control systems.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing business correspondence and reports in the field of Information Technology.
- Demonstrated experience with preparing technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of Information Technology/Information management or engineering.
- Proof of University Degree or College Diploma in any discipline.
- Experience providing advice and/or guidance on technical writing issues.
- Experience providing verbal briefings/presentations on a technical topic.
- Experience planning, researching, gathering information, and authoring technical documentation such as Statement of Requirements, System Specifications, and user manuals and guides.
- Experience proofreading technical documents created by others.
- Experience analyzing material, such as specifications (technical Statement of Work/Requirement), notes, drawings, writing manuals, user guides, and other documents to explain requirements clearly and concisely.
