What is the opportunity?

As a key member of the Royal Bank of Canada's Wealth Management team, your role as a Financial Planning Specialist is to collaborate with advisors to deliver customized financial plans to high net worth clients. You will work closely with the team to identify business opportunities, develop revenue-generating strategies, and provide expert financial planning services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive financial plans that meet clients' specific needs, including financial, investment, retirement, tax, risk management, and estate planning.
  • Personalize each financial plan to provide expert knowledge on complex issues affecting clients, such as holding companies, employee stock options, individual pension plans, retirement compensation agreements, gift and charitable planning, etc.
  • Simplify complex financial strategies to assist advisors in providing exceptional client service.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Planning Analyst team to prepare financial plans and ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Promote a work environment that fosters innovation, creativity, collaboration, and diversity.
  • Develop strong internal and external networks and referral sources to drive business growth.

Requirements

Must-have

  • Five years of experience in tax planning for high net worth clients.
  • Five years of relevant experience in all aspects of financial planning.
  • One or more professional designations in Accounting, such as CA, CMA, CGA, or CPA.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with bilingualism (English and French) required.
  • Strong analytical and judgment skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial planning software, such as Conquest or Naviplan.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-have

  • Investment and insurance industry knowledge are valuable assets.
  • Certified Financial Planners (CFP) designation or Financial Planner (F. Pl.) designation for Quebec.
