Job Summary

The Maintenance Planner/Specialist is a key member of our facilities team, responsible for coordinating all activities within our Preventative and Planned Maintenance Program. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a good understanding of SAP and CMMS systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and track outstanding work in the system for their area, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Review and update equipment information in the SAP Hierarchy, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Add spare part SAP# numbers to the BOM for each equipment, facilitating efficient maintenance operations.
  • Provide regular reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Facilitate the Daily Validation meeting, ensuring all notifications are converted to Work Orders in a timely manner.
  • Plan and schedule PMs and Work Orders to ensure completion before the Basic Finish Date, minimizing downtime and delays.
  • Distribute Work Orders to Millwrights and Electricians, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Develop comprehensive 2-week and 6-week schedules in conjunction with the Production Schedule, optimizing maintenance operations.
  • Track completion of PMs and create a weekly PM compliance report, highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Review changes to PMs requested by the trades, documenting and implementing updates as needed.
  • Create work orders and track to completion, providing regular updates and reports.
  • Ensure minimal overdue work orders (PMs and MRs), reporting on any seriously overdue Work Orders that require attention.
  • Maintain all calibration records, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in all Zone audits, ensuring adherence to company standards and procedures.
  • Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to understand the requirements of work orders that require contractor support, arranging and scheduling contractors as needed.
  • Schedule planned maintenance activities in collaboration with the Maintenance Supervisor, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, supporting the team in achieving its goals.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary school education in a technical field or trade certification as Millwright or Electrician is preferred.
  • Proven experience with SAP software, with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in combination with trade and Maintenance Planning is required.
  • Good knowledge of CMMS is strongly preferred.
  • Post-secondary education or training in Planning/Scheduling or related field is preferred.
  • A high sense of accountability, self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
