Manager of Finance

Acadian Timber is a leading supplier of primary forest products in Eastern Canada and the Northeastern United States with approximately 2.4 million acres of land under management in New Brunswick and Maine. As one of the largest timberland operators in New Brunswick and Maine, Acadian has a strong track record of success and adheres to the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to join our team in New Brunswick. This challenging position offers the opportunity to play a key role as part of a highly skilled team, supporting the accounting and finance function, as well as the operations team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare regular internal financial reporting.
  • Analyze financial results for senior management.
  • Provide regular and ad hoc analyses to support operations.
  • Oversee the sales and cost of sales transactional system and processes.
  • Supervise a team of three.
  • Assist with preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Coordinate and assist with special projects.
  • Other miscellaneous accounting and finance duties, as required.
Requirements:
  • CPA designation.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player mindset.
  • Experience in cost accounting is considered an asset.
  • Experience managing people is considered an asset.
  • Experience with accounting software (Microsoft GP would be a significant asset).
