This position is integral to the success of our Market at the Lighthouse, ensuring it effectively achieves its objectives and aligns with The Salvation Army's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish connections between families and Pathway of Hope Caseworkers, facilitating access to essential support services.
  • Collaborate closely with the Community Ministries Program Coordinator to maintain a consistent supply of food for our Market program.
  • Contribute actively to the planning and development of our Food Forest initiative alongside the Community Ministries Worker and Coordinator.
  • Provide guidance and support to Market and Food Forest volunteers, ensuring their well-being and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Maintain operational efficiency by upholding established policies and procedures, including pricing guidelines and inventory management.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for donors and partners, effectively communicating the impact of our programs.
  • Accurately input data into Link2Feed, contributing to program evaluation and resource allocation.
  • Present compelling statistics and impactful stories about the Market at staff meetings, raising awareness and inspiring continued support.
  • Create engaging flyers that highlight grocery deals and upcoming events hosted by The Salvation Army.
  • Provide dedicated support for special events such as food drives and holiday trains, ensuring their smooth execution.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with grocery partners, securing essential donations and fostering collaborative partnerships.
  • Participate in relevant training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to community outreach and program management.

Qualifications:

  • A formal post-secondary education or equivalent experience in a relevant field is required.
  • Two years of proven experience working within community/social services or non-profit organizations is essential.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online data management systems is crucial.
