Job Summary

Horizon North is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing direct supervision to our field staff, scheduling and dispatching drivers and equipment, and ensuring the efficient operation of our logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and Dispatch: Schedule and dispatch drivers and equipment to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Field Supervision: Provide direct supervision to field staff, including mentoring and coaching to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties.
  • Logistics Coordination: Coordinate logistics operations, including arranging for the servicing of fleet vehicles and equipment, and ensuring compliance with corporate and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Team Management: Supervise, coach, and mentor team members to ensure they are meeting their performance goals and adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in the logistics and transportation industry, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a fluctuating workload and prioritize tasks effectively. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
