Our client, a prominent provider of specialized cable assemblies and wire harnesses for the aerospace, outer space, and nuclear sectors, is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to enhance their expanding team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all manufacturing operations and related activities within the company’s service division, including project management, qualification, testing, planning, logistics, standardized processes, materials management, maintenance, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance.
  • Review incoming purchase orders meticulously and develop production schedules to achieve on-time delivery targets.
  • Conduct daily production meetings to establish priorities, allocate tasks, and monitor progress.
  • Formulate and execute strategies to minimize costs and waste, enhance cycle times and on-time delivery, and improve overall operational efficiency and labor utilization.
  • Integrate and commercialize new products, processes, and equipment into the manufacturing facility.
  • Communicate production capacity to ensure optimal utilization of resources through precise lead times.
  • Support stock assessments for incoming requests for quotations (RFQs) and ensure material availability at the start of production.
  • Generate and modify technical drawings and manufacturing control reports (MCRs) for quoted assemblies, establishing procedures and documentation to guide production activities.
  • Develop and implement capacity plans to meet demand, including scheduling of production technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and CSA N299 standards while supporting system improvements and quality outcomes.
  • Supervise daily tasks of production teams, including cutting, stripping, connector attachment, and various assembly processes.
  • Engage in hands-on assembly of products as needed, adhering to applicable MCRs, manufacturing instructions, and specifications.
  • Utilize systematic problem-solving techniques to address production challenges and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support warehouse operations to achieve world-class inventory accuracy.
  • Manage the ordering and delivery of production materials, supplies, and consumables as required.
  • Maintain inventory records in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
  • Oversee the packaging and preparation of finished products for shipment, ensuring safe delivery.
  • Collaborate with customer project teams to provide updates on qualification and project statuses for open orders.
  • Review and approve outgoing quotes and incoming customer purchase orders in accordance with nuclear quality requirements.
  • Conduct timesheet reviews and coordinate payroll processing.
  • Facilitate qualified operational training, certifying individuals in IPC standards and other relevant skills.
  • Maintain accurate historical records by filing documents and drawings on the designated platform.
  • Keep an updated order completion schedule for effective planning and forecasting.

Qualifications

  • Experience in cable manufacturing is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of production and safety management, occupational health and safety, and employment standards legislation.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and world-class manufacturing techniques such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, JIT, Lean, TQM, Kanban, and ERP.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently without compromising quality.

This position operates on a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday.
