Senior Estimator Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you'll be responsible for meticulous examination of contract documents, preparation of detailed estimates, leadership in the preparation of tenders/bids for multiple contract types, and fostering relationships with our industry partners.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Identify and source tendering opportunities that align with our company's goals and objectives.
  2. Evaluate potential pursuit opportunities and present them to our Vice President of Operations.
  3. Thoroughly assess and appraise tender forms, securing essential documentation such as bonds and insurance for the bid submission.
  4. Upload tender documentation for trade partner access onto our website.
  5. Dispatch invitations to bid to trade partners.
  6. Execute all requisite material take-offs and integrate them into the estimate.
  7. Prepare Class D, C, B, and A budgets and interact with clients.
  8. Manage the bid/tender closing process in collaboration with our Project Management team.
  9. Conduct a comprehensive post-tender review.
  10. Work diligently with our operations team on the transition of successful bids/tenders, highlighting risks and opportunities.
Requirements
  1. 10+ years of experience in estimating within the ICI sector, with additional experience in residential high-rise/multi-unit projects being an asset.
  2. A profound understanding of the Calgary region market, coupled with the ability to elicit interest from trades and establish robust professional connections.
  3. A University Degree or College Diploma in Construction Engineering or Management, or an equivalent combination of academic qualification and substantial industry know-how.
  4. Proficient written and oral communication abilities.
  5. Strong computer skills, particularly with Excel, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, and Autodesk BIM.

$95,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
