We are seeking a highly skilled Geologist to join our team at Kinross Gold Corporation. As a Geologist, you will be responsible for providing geological interpretation and resource estimation to support our operations, exploration, and merger and acquisitions activities.
Key Responsibilities- Geological Modeling: Develop innovative 3D geologic models, optimize existing geologic models, and create detailed structural and alteration models.
- Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret various forms of data, including assay, geological, geochemical, and metallurgical data.
- Project Support: Review and provide feedback on technical and project proposals to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Decision Support: Ensure projects have clear and appropriate decision points and that they are adhered to.
- Collaboration: Liaise with brownfields exploration and site teams to ensure the effective alignment of strategic exploration programs and plans.
- Technical Documentation: Investigate issues at site and prepare technical documents such as site memos/reports to support decision-making.
- Resource Estimation: Assist with resource estimation to support brownfield exploration, projects, studies, and operations.
- Education: Undergraduate Degree in Geology.
- Experience: 5+ years of mining-related experience, including mine and/or exploration geology experience and geological modeling experience.
- Skills: Proficient in industry-standard software packages such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine, and Micromine.
