**The Ad Formats Team**

The Ad Formats team is responsible for developing and improving ad formats to enhance user experiences and align with advertisers' marketing objectives. This team focuses on building new formats, enabling formats on various surfaces, establishing product market fit, and iterating based on advertiser needs and product feedback.

**What We're Working On**

The team is currently working on developing new ad formats, including end-to-end prototyping, validation, implementation, launch, and iterating to product-market fit. Additionally, the team is continually improving the technical foundations used for Ad Formats.

**What We're Looking For**

We're seeking a skilled frontend engineer with a product-focused mindset to join the Ad Formats team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proficiency in frontend engineering with at least years of experience in software development
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals
  • A willingness to tackle the challenges of creating data-intensive, highly responsive, and fault-tolerant apps within the constraints of a smartphone environment
  • An openness to explore innovative approaches to software development
  • Willingness to work full stack when needed, such as making small to medium-sized backend changes

**Technologies Used**

The team uses a range of technologies, including:

  • Languages: Typescript, Go, Python
  • Frameworks: React, Thrift, gRPC
  • Datastores: Postgres, DynamoDB, BigQuery
  • Tools: Kubernetes, Argo, Docker

**Responsibilities**

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Building Ad experiences and creating patterns for Reddit's official web page that enhance our ads' performance and functionality
  • Collaborating across product, design, and engineering teams to innovate and implement sophisticated solutions for complex challenges
  • Engaging in the full development cycle: design, develop, QA, experiment, analyze, and deploy
