About the Role

Peak Power is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Engineering and Innovation to lead our technical operations and drive the development of our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) technology. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise to support the growth and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and expertise to support the development and deployment of our BESS technology, including assessing various BESS technologies, conducting comparative technical and commercial analyses, and identifying potential energy storage opportunities.
  2. Value Engineering: Oversee the value engineering of energy storage facilities, including BESS, to ensure relevance of underwriting assumptions for financial modeling of transactions and development projects, and proper valuation of existing assets.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, development, and operations, to ensure effective communication and alignment on technical matters.
  4. Staying Current: Stay up-to-date with government and market regulations impacting the deployment of energy storage facilities and their implications on our business strategy.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Minimum 10 years' experience in engineering or a related field, with senior-level engineering experience and a P.Eng license preferred.
  2. Technical Expertise: Experience with utility interconnection regulations, codes, and standards, and permitting requirements for Megawatt-scale distributed generation power systems, including energy storage systems.
  3. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop a team, with a strong track record of delivering results and driving innovation.
  4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
