Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Accountant focused on First Nations, you will:

Establish and nurture effective relationships with Indigenous communities across various operations and emerging markets.Collaborate with First Nation clients and Indigenous-led organizations to provide accounting support, year-end reporting, and advisory services.Implement KPMG's auditing and accounting standards during client engagements.Conduct external and internal audits of financial statements for both public and private entities.Guide field engagement teams while mentoring junior staff members.Analyze complex accounting challenges.Perform financial and systems assessments.Develop and maintain relationships with clients in diverse First Nations communities.
Qualifications

As an Audit professional, your role will be pivotal in delivering high-value services that assist companies in evaluating their risks and ensuring transparency across their operations.
Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities, organizations, and individuals.Knowledge of fund accounting and reporting to Indigenous Services Canada is advantageous.Possession of an accounting or business diploma.Successful completion of the CFE or progress towards a CPA designation.2 - 3 years of post-graduate experience.Familiarity with all reporting standards.Exceptional project management, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Effectively monitor multiple or complex projects to ensure adherence to deadlines and budgets.Outstanding client service skills with a keen understanding of clients' businesses and the ability to maintain robust client relationships.Commitment to achieving high standards of client service and professionalism in all duties.Utilize prior experience and technical expertise for the benefit of clients.Adept at employing various techniques to investigate issues.
