Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to join our team at Renfrew Educational Services. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with disabilities and a strong understanding of early childhood development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized program plans (IPPs) for children in conjunction with the classroom team.
  • Design and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate programs tailored to the needs of each child.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive growth of all children.
  • Collaborate with parents, child development facilitators (CDF), and therapy teams to ensure comprehensive support and optimal programming for each child.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of child progress, IPPs, and communication with families.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and early childhood education.
  • Supervise CDFs, practicum students, and/or volunteers, providing feedback and evaluation as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Education degree.
  • Valid teaching certification in Alberta.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of child development and inclusive education best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with children with diverse needs.
