Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the York Region District School Board.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and activities that cater to the diverse needs of young learners.
  • Collaborate with the Special Education Consultant/Lead Teacher to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Position Details:
  • This is a full-time, fixed-term renewable contract position.
  • The successful candidate will work a Monday to Friday daytime schedule, with a total of 45 hours per week.
Requirements:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced classroom setting, with a focus on providing exceptional support to students with special needs.
  • Fluency in English and the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, as well as a clear police check.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Education, with teaching experience and a specialization in Early Childhood Education or Special Education.
  • Experience working with children with special needs, with a strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis and child development.
