About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Kitchen General Helper to join our team at Sodexo Canada Ltd. This is a contract role that offers a great opportunity to work in a dynamic kitchen environment, providing high-quality food preparation and service to our consumers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a variety of kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, strain, season, and knead foodstuffs for cooking, serving, and storing.
  • Assist in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly store food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
  • Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment following all Sodexo, client, and regulatory rules and procedures.
  • May have basic cooking responsibilities, i.e., cook vegetables, chicken for salads.
  • Wash dishes, glasses, and utensils by hand or with a dishwasher, maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen (floors, equipment, and material), emptying the garbage cans, and transporting the garbage to the appropriate containers.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent customer service skills and teamwork.
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
