Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Compliance Officer to join our team at Transamerica. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing our compliance program and ensuring that our business operations are in line with all applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective compliance policies and procedures to mitigate regulatory risks.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure that our business strategies align with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to our compliance team to ensure that they have the necessary resources and expertise to perform their duties effectively.
  • Monitor and report on compliance risks and deficiencies, and develop remediation plans to address these issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory developments and industry trends, and ensure that our compliance program remains current and effective.
  • Oversee the assessment of control deficiencies and remediation plans, and ensure that appropriate resources are available to handle regulatory examinations.
  • Prepare and deliver reports to our board of directors on the state of our compliance program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in insurance compliance, including senior-level management responsibilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Canadian insurance regulatory requirements and experience dealing with regulators (AMF, FSRA, etc.).
  • Outstanding written and oral communication and relationship-building skills to work with regulators, the business, and field leaders.
  • Life, Accident and Sickness/Personal Insurance Licenses in all Provinces.

Preferred Qualifications

  • French speaking.

Working Conditions

  • Office or hybrid office/remote environment.
  • Modest travel.
