Educational Content Specialist - Science (Grades 9 to 12)Science - Educational Content Specialist (Tutor)
Grades 9-12
Elmwood School, recognized as one of Canada's leading girls' educational institutions, offers an exceptional learning experience for students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. As an International Baccalaureate World School located in Ottawa, Elmwood is committed to empowering each girl to achieve her utmost potential. We are currently in search of a content specialist in Science (general and/or specialized) to become a part of the Elmwood Edge tutoring team.
Educational content specialists within the Elmwood Edge program are subject matter experts with a proven history of academic success and teaching excellence. The expectations for this role include:
- Experience in tutoring and instructional delivery
- Proficiency in differentiated instruction and strategic teaching methodologies
- A demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students
- A collaborative and adaptable approach to teaching
- Excellent communication skills
- A strong work ethic characterized by enthusiasm and productivity
Additional Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education at the university level in the relevant field
- Teacher education qualifications (B.Ed., M.Ed.) or substantial teaching experience in alternative settings (e.g., University, College)
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is advantageous
- Membership in the Ontario College of Teachers (or equivalent) is preferred
As a member of the Elmwood Edge team, you will work under the guidance of Elmwood's Director of Student Success, employing a strategic approach to content support. Training will be provided, and tutoring sessions will occur at the school during regular school hours and after school. Regular communication with educators and parents will be an integral part of the Elmwood Edge team's responsibilities. Tutoring opportunities will be based on student requests.
