As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive and engaging environment. Your responsibilities will encompass assessing resident needs, developing tailored programs, and leading a diverse range of recreational and social activities both indoors and outdoors.
Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand individual resident preferences and abilities, ensuring program alignment with their unique needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented programs, making adjustments as needed to maximize resident engagement and satisfaction.
- Plan, organize, and lead a variety of stimulating activities that cater to diverse interests and promote physical, cognitive, and social well-being.
- Maintain detailed records of daily events, interactions, and program outcomes, contributing to comprehensive resident care documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow team members, including nursing staff, to ensure seamless integration of recreational programs into the overall resident care plan.
- Assist in preparing residents for outings and provide support during activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Arrange transportation logistics for planned activities, facilitating smooth execution and resident participation.
- Adhere to established organizational policies and infection control protocols, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for all.
- Possess a post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or a related field.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills for program planning, documentation, and communication.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Possess the ability to motivate and engage individuals, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere.
- Maintain a reliable and conscientious work ethic, ensuring timely completion of tasks and responsibilities.
- Be available to work weekends, contributing to comprehensive program coverage.
