This role is centered around exceptional customer service, delivering friendly, knowledgeable, and memorable experiences to both customers and fellow team members.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain equipment and uphold a safe, sanitary work environment.
  • Portion and package meat and seafood products according to customer specifications.
  • Prepare a variety of meat cuts for display cases.
  • Ensure accurate pricing and signage for retail products.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of primal cuts.
  • Demonstrate a passion for fresh food.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and create positive experiences.
  • Adhere to food safety standards and company protocols to guarantee food safety.
  • Implement daily sampling programs.
  • Stay informed about new product offerings and share information with customers.
  • Keep back areas and coolers organized, well-maintained, and properly dated.
  • Assist with monthly inventory processes.
  • Show proper use, care, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Break down, trim, bone, cut, scrape, and present various meat and seafood items.
  • Prepare skewered meat and poultry for kabobs.
  • Grind meats while monitoring temperature.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by team leaders and store management.
  • Possess superior knowledge of primal cuts.
  • Have familiarity with inventory management, financial statements, and labor controls.
  • Understand cooking techniques for different cuts and products.
  • Exhibit self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate mathematical proficiency.
  • Experience with digital scale operation is considered an asset.
Qualifications:

  • Meat Cutting certification is an asset; however, 5 years of experience in meat cutting is acceptable.
  • Completion of a Food Safety Mini Course certification is required (training provided by Sunterra).
  • WHMIS Certification is required (training provided by Sunterra).
  • Familiarity with digital scale operation is considered an asset.
Physical Requirements:

  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent bending or occasional kneeling.
  • Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 40 lbs.
